Job Description

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.

To ensure product is packed according to customer specification. Responsible for proper use of \xe2\x80\x93bagger, scales, blueprint, metal detectors, coding, shaker, and taper.\xe2\x80\x8b

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12).

\xc2\xb7 Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Operator in a manufacturing company

\xc2\xb7 Basic computer skills.

\xc2\xb7 Exceptional communication skills.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to meet heavy physical expectations, including lifting and operating machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Daily cleaning tasks: cleaning air hose equipment, opening bags of rejected product, placing in appropriate bin, and disposing of bags. Sweeping and cleaning floor of surrounding area.\xe2\x80\x8b

\xc2\xb7 Paperwork and documentation: Complete regular bag checks and document findings. Complete metal detector verification every 2 hours or at change over. Complete hourly coding checks.\xe2\x80\x8b

\xc2\xb7 Re-stock: Change or add roles of paper or plastic using poly lift. Replenish tape in case sealer.\xe2\x80\x8b

\xc2\xb7 Change over: Use the specific change over equipment based on product weight and size. Depending on predetermined pack plan, employee could be required to complete multiple changeovers per day.\xe2\x80\x8b

\xc2\xb7 Assist during Operational Clean Ups (OCUs), following all procedures and checklists.\xe2\x80\x8b

\xc2\xb7 Assist with startup procedure, shut down procedure, and refresh procedure, following all established steps.\xe2\x80\x8b

\xc2\xb7 Must be willing and able to train other operators or trainees in this area when required

Wage: $20.55-$23.52
