Job Duties and Responsibilities:

? Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and disorders of the eye and vision system.

? Prescribe and administer treatments, medications, corrective lenses, and surgical procedures.

? Perform ophthalmic surgeries, including cataract removal, laser procedures, and other corrective surgeries.

? Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, and fundus imaging.

? Provide preoperative and postoperative care to patients.

? Collaborate with other medical professionals to coordinate treatment plans.

? Conduct follow-up examinations and monitor patients' progress.

? Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to ophthalmic assistants, residents, and support staff.

? Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with medical and regulatory standards.

? Participate in continuous professional development and stay updated on advancements in ophthalmology.

Skills and Requirements:

? Completion of bachelor's degree or, completion of a college program- in Quebec and one year of pre-medicine university studies is usually required.

? Graduation from an approved medical school and specific specialty training are required.

? Completion of the certifying examinations of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensing by the provincial or territorial licensing authority are required.

? Five to six years of specialty residency training are required.

? Two years of subspecialty training may also be required.

? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

? Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

? Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $396,000.00 per year
