Eye Plus Optometry is a modern, patient-focused clinic located in the heart of Nanaimo. We are passionate about delivering exceptional eye care with a focus on Dry Eye Disease and Mobile Eye Care. We're looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate

Ophthalmic Technician / Optician

to join our growing team!

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for examinations and assist the optometrist during clinical procedures Perform preliminary testing (e.g., auto-refraction, tonometry, OCT) Manage patient flow and support efficient clinic operations Educate patients on procedures, treatments, and product use Support frame and lens dispensing; knowledge of lenses (Zeiss, Essilor, Hoya) is valued but not required Assist with contact lens training and dry eye therapies Maintain and sterilize instruments and diagnostic equipment Support front desk team with administrative tasks when needed

Qualifications:

Previous experience as an ophthalmic assistant, optometric assistant, or licensed optician is an asset, but not required--willing to train the right candidate Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent attention to detail and time management Comfort working with technology and diagnostic equipment A passion for healthcare and patient care

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
