- Perform preliminary eye examinations, including taking patient histories and performing diagnostic tests - Assist ophthalmologists in various procedures, such as eye exams, surgeries, and laser treatments - Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the ophthalmologist - Conduct visual field tests and other diagnostic tests - Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems - Educate patients on proper eye care - Clean and maintain ophthalmic equipment and instruments
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or in a similar role preferred - Knowledge of medical terminology related to ophthalmology - Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems - Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record patient information - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients of all ages, including pediatrics - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively - Understanding of front desk operations in a medical office setting - Ability to provide exceptional patient care and maintain patient confidentiality Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
