The Company

B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Operator, Powerhouse Control Room, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Supervisor, Powerhouse, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

Perform daily shift control operations of a 32MW diesel engine power station, ensuring stable and efficient power generation;

Operate and monitor boiler systems to maintain optimal performance and support power generation needs;

Follow the planned dispatch schedule while aligning operations with maintenance requirements to ensure reliable power distribution;

Operate main generation units safely, optimizing power output while managing fuel consumption efficiently;

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the control room and coordinate with maintenance teams for equipment servicing;

Liaise with end users and other departments to align power operations with production targets and operational needs;

Adhere to HSE programs, procedures, and industry best practices to ensure a safe working environment; and

Identify operational inefficiencies and suggest improvements to enhance powerhouse performance and reliability.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

Five (5) years of control room experience in power generation within mining or heavy industry. Preference for candidates with remote camp experience and familiarity with CAT engines;

A Red Seal Certification in Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Electrician, or Heavy Duty Equipment; and

Familiarity with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS, such as SAP) is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $159,848.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $58 and overtime rate of $87) in a work year.
