Job Description

Pardy's Waste Management and Industrial Services Ltd is now accepting applications for a Full-Time Operator at our Happy Valley-Goose Bay branch. This position is Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM with occasional weekends and overtime hours as required. This is a unionized position with Operating Engineers Local 904 with competitive pay and benefits, in accordance with the collective agreement.

Responsibilities:

- Operation of Vacuum Truck units and other equipment in a safe and professional manner.

- Transport, load and offload various types of hazardous waste materials at different locations within Newfoundland & Labrador.

- Ensure proper load securement of hoses, drums and/or other materials and equipment.

- Perform maintenance, deliveries and pick up's of rentable equipment including, however not limited to, portable toilet units, roll off containers and dumpsters.

- With direction from Management, ensure efficient route planning and job completion.

- Assist with maintaining client relationships by providing high levels of customer service.

- Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel and inspections for leaks and damage to vehicles prior to operation.

- Responsible for following company procedures to ensure safe handling of hazardous materials during transfer and storage.

- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- A clean driver's abstract

- Ability to pass a pre-employment fit for work medical and alcohol & substance screening

- Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Endorsement required (Class 1 would be considered an asset)

- A good understanding of basic mechanical components is an asset

- The ability to regularly, manually lift up to 50 lbs, sit for long periods of time, climb on ladders as well as bend, stretch and twist while working in tight spaces is required

- Honest and trustworthy with a strong work ethic

- Ability to work within a team environment to achieve common goals

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $27.26-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
