If you are ready to make a difference every day, FMC is ready to talk to you.Overview:An Operator, together with team members, is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of equipment to process materials into finished goods and package and prepare finished goods for distribution. This position requires the ability to commit to a common purpose and set of related performance goals for which the group holds itself jointly accountable.Responsibilities:Packaging of finished products - safely and efficiently package finished goods for distribution

  • Set up and operate packaging equipment according to packaging and product requirements
  • Label boxes and containers appropriately to match product specification
  • Check packaged product weights for accuracy using scale equipment
  • Confirm and log batch information data
  • Palletize finished products and stage them appropriately.
Process monitoring and personnel guidance - ensure the safe operation of equipment through process application and safe behavior work actions
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for appropriate process
  • Support and participate in following safety procedures at the plant through observation and feedback.
  • Perform a variety of inspection to ensure maintenance of quality standards and specifications
  • Communicate with team members and escalate about process problems, personnel issues, process improvement ideas and safety issues to ensure proper problem resolution.
  • Team is responsible to keep areas clear of clutter, trash and environmental hazards
Perform equipment and general maintenance on an as needed basis
  • Provide preventative maintenance on process and plant equipment on an as needed basis
  • Operates equipment, troubleshoots problems with machinery, sets up and monitors manufacturing processes
  • Clean out process and packaging equipment including dismantling and making routine and nonroutine repairs during a product change
  • Contribute to improvements in all aspects of workflow.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment (3+years)
  • Demonstrates mechanical ability & troubleshooting equipment with machinary
  • Forklift experience (Preferred)
Required Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing ladders and fine finger movements are all part of daily activities
  • Ability to lift material/product weighing up to 23 kg (50 pounds) and/or move material/product weighing various amounts, using mechanical handling devices or team assistance given with heavier objects/awkward lifts.
  • Repeated bending to lift and carry material.
  • May perform variety of processes requiring repetitive arm and wrist movements.
  • Ability to work in high production work area.
  • Constant mental and visual attention required.
  • Must wear protective clothing in specific work areas. Mandatory required PPE; Steel toed boots, safety goggles, hard hat, reflective clothing, safety gloves.
