: HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for an Operations Supervisor on behalf of one of our clients. The ideal candidate would have three (3) years\' experience in a management position related to crane operations or industry. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Supervisor performs tasks related to personnel assignment and operations planning, as well as administrative tasks required for the smooth running of operations. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and controlling day-to-day operations, as well as carrying out field work for all sectors in which the company operates, i.e., crane and machine rental and operation, ground transportation, stevedoring, and intermodal transshipment. The Operations Supervisor is the immediate superior of the site personnel assigned to the various operations. They must ensure the proper use of equipment and facilities, in accordance with the various contracts and agreements. They must ensure that OHS standards are respected in all operations. This position is located in Labrador City, NL . Essential Job Functions: Operation Responsibilities: Monitoring the planning and coordination of daily operations. They must determine appropriate work methods, applicable procedures, risks associated with the work to be carried out and preventive measures to be applied, if necessary. Managing the allocation of cranes according to customer needs. They must ensure that the required equipment is always ready for use and appoints the required personnel according to the nature and duration of the work; coordinates the presence of subcontractors when required, and coordinates work with customers on different sites. Respond to service calls and customer requests during office hours and outside normal business hours, evenings, and weekends. Coordinate various follow-ups and needs with the teams in place and redirects requests to the appropriate party, as required. In collaboration with the maintenance teams, they must supervise the status of equipment and regularly check the maintenance plans and schedules for the various items of equipment. They may be called upon to visit customers to discuss specific projects or to follow up on customer service. They develop and maintain a high quality, highly professional business relationship with the various customers. Regularly visits project sites and analyzes the quality of services offered in relation to customer needs. They may be called upon to supervise work during major shutdowns and special projects. They may also be called upon to collaborate with the field engineer and, if need be, take notes in connection with the various lifting plans. Follows up on regulatory certification and inspection of equipment. Finally, they may be called upon to carry out other responsibilities or tasks required by the Operations Manager, all in line with their skills. Quality, Safety, Health, and the Environment Responsibilities: Ensure that all applicable procedures, laws, and regulations are applied and complied with, including, but not limited to, quality, health, and safety, as well as respect for the environment. Ensure that health and safety meetings are held regularly with the personnel under their responsibility, for each project, each site. Through their regular presence on the various sites, garages, and warehouses, they will monitor the application of safety instructions; they will document these checks and deal with any misconduct promptly. Maintains constant communication with staff and customers to promote health and safety, and environmental protection within operations. Personnel Management Responsibilities: Maintain a professional relationship with each member of their team and provides appropriate coaching to ensure increased efficiency within operations and the achievement of established operational objectives. Work with the Operations Manager to identify development and training needs for the staff. Ensures compliance with applicable collective agreements or employment contracts, and must manage disciplinary actions, if required. Other Responsibilities: Support the Operations Manager in the preparation of bids and various calculations. May be called upon to produce various analyses related to operations, and in difficult situations, it is their responsibility to find solutions quickly. Prepares or approves the various documents required by the unit management system (invoicing, payroll, purchase requisitions, etc.). Maintain a filing system that complies with requirements and keeps the various files relating to operations up to date, in accordance with the company\'s ISO quality system. Prepares internal documents such as bills of lading, work orders, material unloading contracts, receipt of packages, service contracts, work permits, ASET, etc. Ensures that operators\' time sheets are completed on a daily basis; that all documentation required for weekly invoicing is properly completed and forwarded; that the shipment of required materials is carried out promptly to the various sites; that special permits for the circulation of equipment are requested in a timely manner and ensures follow-up. Collaborates with and supports the workshop team in the planning and execution of work related to the crane fleet\'s structural and mechanical inspection programs. Records and updates the location, assignment, and availability of each piece of equipment according to customer needs and maintenance requirements in the MCS system. May be called upon to participate in various committees related to operations, OHS, ISO or other standards, all under the direction of the Operations Manager. Education and Experience Requirements: College diploma in heavy equipment operations or mechanics or transportation logistics, or any other diploma in a field of study relevant to the job. Three (3) years\' experience in a management position related to crane operations or industry. Experience in personnel supervision and strong team spirit. Bilingual (English and French) and excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge, Skills, & Attributes: Ability to manage multi-site projects. Knowledge of the local mining industry (Asset). Sense of responsibility and commitment. Valid driver\'s license and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Passionate, dynamic, and action oriented. Excellent judgment backed up by a practical sense of problem-solving, decisiveness and a sense of priorities and urgency. A self-starter with a disciplined, methodical approach. Rigorous in applying work processes/procedures. Respects the deadlines to which they have committed. Demonstrates transparency and accuracy in their communications and has the utmost respect for decision-making and hierarchical processes.
