What You Can Expect

:



Supervise operations staff in executing air and ocean shipment processing from booking through delivery, including documentation preparation, cargo tracking, and schedule coordination Oversee comprehensive billing processes for shipments, ensuring accurate cost allocation, timely invoicing, and monthly profitability analysis Negotiate competitive rates with airlines, ocean carriers, and logistics partners while maintaining current pricing matrices across key trade lanes Prepare and submit detailed rate proposals to clients incorporating all service components Ensure all shipments comply with international trade regulations and maintain accurate shipping documentation including air waybills and bills of lading Establish departmental standards, provide staff training on freight procedures, and supervise special improvement projects Support business development through competitive pricing analysis and identification of new opportunities within air and ocean freight markets Serve as primary escalation contact for shipment issues while collaborating with other Rhenus divisions to leverage combined service capabilities Execute month-end activities including freight cost accruals, ensure timely invoice approvals, and verify accuracy of operational reports Provide after-hours support for time-sensitive shipments and maintain compliance with industry regulatory changes

What You Bring:



Minimum 3 years proven operations experience in air and ocean freight forwarding or international logistics Proven team leadership capabilities with experience managing freight forwarding operations staff Demonstrated expertise in workforce planning, logistics systems implementation, and operational scheduling within freight forwarding environments Strong understanding of air and ocean freight processes, documentation requirements, and international shipping regulations Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite with expert-level Excel skills for shipment tracking, cost analysis, and operational reporting Experience with freight forwarding software systems and inventory management protocols Strong employee training and development skills, particularly in air and ocean freight procedures and compliance requirements Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities for complex logistics challenges Strong customer service focus with experience managing client relationships in freight forwarding * Bilingual French capacity considered a strong asset
