Speedy Transport

is an LTL carrier specializing in Canada to USA transportation and logistics for Canada, USA, Ontario, Quebec and North America. Founded in 1941 as a local, same-day parcel pick-up and delivery service, Speedy Transport has grown to be one of central Canada's premier carriers.

Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to coordinate the day-to-day operations of a high-performance warehousing company and to lead the workforce to achieve safety, quality, service, and cost goals. This will be accomplished by taking a "Hands on" approach to everyday operations and staff issues.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Afternoon (1500-2330)

Position Responsibilities:

Handing out & distributing assignments to the warehouse Assist the Operations Manager to ensure that the warehouse is adequately staffed and that personnel are properly trained to carry out their work in a safe and competent manner Work with the employees to ensure a safe work environment consistent with relevant legislation and company policies Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, budget targets and contribute to the growth of the company in a pro-active manner Work closely with customer service to provide the best possible service for our customers Any additional tasks as required

Position Qualifications:

Previous experience within the Warehouse/Transportation/Logistics Industry Excellent communication skills both oral and written Proven problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to achieve operational goals Ability to work under pressure and handle several complex tasks simultaneously Ability to perform shift work and available for flexible hours Ability to take ownership of issues and problem analysis, decision making and resolution Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Ability to work effectively, efficiently, and courteously with other staff

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
