Purpose of the position

This position is part of DSV Air & Sea division. The primary duty is to process shipment that range in complexity, which may include overland road, oversized or out of gauge shipments.

These tasks are to be performed within the Company standards with emphasize on cost efficiency and industry standards.

Key Tasks

  • Receive, review, and process import documentation from local importers and DSV offices worldwide.
  • Confirm incoterms, billing parties and shipping green light with the shipment stakeholders.
  • Communicate with worldwide offices/agents regarding required proper documentation for imports.
  • Monitor the process of the shipment using track and tracing tools
  • Work with DSV brokerage department and external brokerage firms to obtain Customs release and if required other government agency releases
  • Coordinate the release of goods from the shipping line, rail terminal and /or CFS.
  • Arranging delivery with subcontractors and make appointments if required for delivery
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing, and follow up on payment if a COD customer
  • Ensure costing is accurate and updated in a timely manner
  • Ensure department KPI are being met / adhered to.
  • Negotiate with cartage companies, warehousing and shipping lines as needed
  • Quote internal DSV quotation request as per requested.
  • Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations.
  • Advise department Supervisor, or Manager of any transaction problems or irregularities.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, such as the Code of Conduct, assigned work schedules, and attendance requirements.

Educational background / Work experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years international transportation industry experience preferred, or a minimum of two years of college courses in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study.
Language Skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Other local languages, (as required)
Computer Literacy
  • MS Office, intermediate software skills
