EDUCATION:
Complete high school education required. Successful completion of 5th Class Engineer certification required. Successful completion, or currently enrolled, in a related post-secondary degree or diploma program in management/administration required. Knowledge and experience of Manitoba Health Standards mandatory.
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years' experience in a supervisory position in a facility operations area. Must have or be able to acquire within a reasonable period of time, thorough knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions and regulations applicable to the area of supervision. Must have experience with human resource management including job interviews, performance appraisal, scheduling and disciplining of staff. Must have excellent analytical, organizational and interpersonal communication skills and ability to coach and instruct. Knowledge of and experience with computers is essential.
OTHER:
Good physical and mental health, visual, aural acuity and manual dexterity required. English communication skills, oral and written. Compliance with workplace safety, food safety and sanitation standards required. Position requires walking and standing for sustained periods of time and may be exposed to chemicals, moisture, odor and noise.
SERVICE OVERVIEW:
Has overall responsibility for the provision of quality maintenance and facility operations services, which support a philosophy of resident centered care with an emphasis on quality of life for residents. Responsible for the supervision and management of the maintenance, mechanical operations and materials management functions at Golden Links Lodge. Directly responsible for the management of environmental services at Golden Links Lodge and works collaboratively. At the request of Senior Leadership, may be responsible for the oversight within other support services such as recreation, food services, and housekeeping.
MAIN FUNCTION:
Reporting directly to the Director of Facility and Support Services and/or designate, the incumbent is responsible for the provision and supervision of effective, efficient support services in areas of facility mechanical operations, material management, maintenance department, capital safety and security projects, and Disaster Management program.
