The Opportunity:

Our client, a supplier of high-quality interconnect products is looking for an Operations Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on leadership to a production team, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring world-class safety and customer service levels at their ISO 9001 facility.

What You\'ll Be Doing:

  • Provide hands-on leadership to a production team of approximately 55 employees, exemplifying the company\'s vision and values.
  • Develop and implement safety programs to maintain world-class safety levels at the facility.
  • Deploy LEAN, 5-S, and 6-sigma initiatives to improve processes.
  • Actively participate on the plant floor to gain a deep understanding of the people, products, processes, and equipment driving production and success.
  • Focus intently on customer service by ensuring on-time shipments, high-quality products, and excellent customer satisfaction and service.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce waste, and eliminate non-value-added operations.
  • Develop and implement appropriate business processes in support of the company\'s strategic vision.
  • Develop in-house KPIs that drive productivity improvements, safety, quality, schedule achievement, and other pertinent business criteria.
  • Provide effective communication to staff through coaching, mentoring, and training.
  • Lead new production launches and customer-facing activities as required.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to reduce labor costs, including custom equipment.
What You\'ll Need To Be Successful:
  • Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing setting, with a preference for Electrical or Electronic industries.
  • Proven expertise in implementing and utilizing continuous improvement/lean tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, and Transactional Lean to drive process improvements.
  • The ability to manage teams, transform organizational culture, and secure buy-in from employees.
  • Exceptional communication skills for challenging the status quo, inspiring others, and demonstrating a dedication to excellence.
  • Comfort and proficiency with new technology and tools.
  • A post-secondary education.
