About Us:

Speedy Transport Group Inc. founded in 1941 as a local, same-day parcel pick-up and delivery service, Speedy Transport (SZTG) has grown to be one of Canada's largest privately held carriers.

Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to manage the day to day operations of Speedy Transport Group and to lead the workforce to achieve safety, quality, service, and cost goals.

Schedule:

Sunday to Thursday, 23:00 to 07:30

Position Responsibilities:

Ensure that the dock is adequately staffed and that personnel are properly trained to carry out their work in a safe and competent manner Work with the employees to ensure a safe work environment consistent with relevant legislation and company policies Ensure that the dock is efficiently scheduled to meet customer requirements and that customer issues are resolved in an effective and timely manner Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, budget targets and contribute to the growth of the company in a pro-active manner Oversee all routine and preventative maintenance and schedule any major repairs in accordance with production requirements Manage the overall logistics of the company's shipping and receiving Manage the shift Operations Supervisors Work closely with customer service to provide the best possible service for our customers

Position Qualifications:

3-5 years of Management Experience 3-5 years of Transportation Industry Experience
