Position Overview



We are seeking a driven, hands on as required, Operations Manager to oversee daily operations of the postproduction modules. From acceptance at the plant to the end of the first-year warranty. The Operations Manager will lead all operational aspects of Northplex's modular home post-production, delivery, customer experience and warranty processes. You will be responsible for arranging the site visits pre delivery, pile and foundation installs as required, co-ordinating the acceptance of the home from the production plant, managing the delivery, post delivery inspection, customer experience and first year warranty. The ideal candidate has strong experience in modular or prefabricated construction and excels in coordinating and end-to-end delivery execution. In this position, you will be required to work between our Barrhead, Alberta and Acheson, Alberta locations, with travel to additional sites as required.

Key Responsibilities



Modular Home Delivery & Logistics



Manage all logistics involved in transporting modular units from the factory to customer sites. Coordinate with transportation teams, crane operators, site managers, and installation crews. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, load restrictions, and safety requirements. Develop and maintain delivery schedules, ensuring on-time arrival and minimal disruptions. Oversee post-delivery inspections and ensure modules are fully completed for the customer. Manage pre-site visits to insure deliverability and co-ordinate as required pile and or foundation installations.

Quality & Compliance



Ensure all modular units meet Northplex quality standards as well as relevant building codes. Oversee pre-delivery inspections and insure modules are site ready. Inspect Pile installations and insure proper torque is met to pass inspection. Oversee safety protocols for both factory and delivery operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct routine inspections and lead root-cause investigations for quality issues ensuring feedback is provided to the plant for future quality improvements.

Supply Chain & Inventory Management- Post module delivery



Manage procurement activities as they relate to the post delivery of Modules, PDI and warranty. Oversee material inventory levels and ensure timely availability of components. Forecast material needs based on production schedules and upcoming deliveries.

Team Leadership



Lead and develop a customer experience team, delivery coordinators, contractors and logistics personnel that interface with Northplex plant staff. Provide ongoing training related to quality, safety, and operational excellence. Foster a positive team culture built around accountability, efficiency, and problem solving.

Strategic & Operational Planning



Collaborate with senior leadership to plan for growth, capacity expansion, and technology improvements. Optimize workflow, modular delivery post delivery, warranty and customer experience processes to support business scaling. Assist with budgeting, cost analysis, and operational strategy development.

Preferred Qualifications



5+ years of operations experience in modular construction, prefabrication, or manufacturing. Strong knowledge of modular home building processes, factory production workflows, and construction logistics. Experience managing delivery logistics, oversized loads, or construction transportation. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Additional Qualifications



Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or similar. Experience managing oversized load transportation or construction logistics. Certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools.
