The Operations Manager - Gas Leak Detection supervises and coordinates field data collection activities and the production of field data records and reporting products. This role's key responsibilities include managing all staff and resources while maintaining procedures and workflows to meet GRI's standards for service quality and delivery timelines. Thsi position is also responsible for troubleshooting data and workflow problems, while contributing to new developments in workflows, hardware, software and training. On occasion, this role may be required to perform field data collection activities as required.
Responsibilities
Manage and document project schedules and resource allocation to meet deadlines and cost targets.
Direct and support field operations as required to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with field operations, datasets and data products.
Review and revise data quality control processes required to meet customer expectations.
Participate in division annual budgeting and financial management activities.
Maintain division safety and quality performance by adhering to company policies and procedures and monitoring safety and quality performance metrics.
Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and enthusiasm to effectively motivate and supervise staff and maintain good working relationships with vendors and clients.
Direct and develop employees through effective mentoring, training and performance management.
Analyze and identify growth opportunities and new technologies to enhance data collection and production processes, lower costs and improve efficiency and product delivery.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, networking, and professional affiliations.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills
A minimum of five years' experience operating methane sensors, processing geospatial data and producing geospatial data products.
Knowledge of methane sensor operation, calibration techniques and sensor repairs.
Must have the ability to supervise technical employees maintaining a high degree of motivation and focus on achieving division goals and objectives.
Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task while managing a team in a changing environment.
Good interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills.
Experience using GIS software is considered an asset.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify potential hazards.
