The Queen's hotel on Main Street in Fort Macleod, Alberta, originally established in 1903, is undergoing a transformative restoration to become the town's first boutique hotel. This ambitious project breathes new life into one of the community's most iconic buildings, thoughtfully weaving the spirit of Fort Macleod's early days into every detail-from the decor to the warmth of our service.
Once completed, the property will feature 14 guest rooms and a 70-seat full-service restaurant and lounge. Whether enjoying the accommodations or the cuisine, guests will experience the rustic charm of Fort Macleod - where timeless spirit, deep-rooted heritage, and must-see destinations come together.
As we embark on this exciting project, we are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee and lead all aspects of the business from the hotel and accommodations side to managing the restaurant and culinary experience provided. This is a rare opportunity to be part of something special from the ground up - shaping not just day-to-day- operations, but the overall design and long term culture and reputation of this landmark destination.
Our ideal candidate is a Red Seal Chef with strong ties to Fort Macleod and Southern Alberta, who views this opportunity as a long-term career-not just a brief stop along their journey. Proven experience in managing all aspects of day-to-day restaurant operations is essential, including menu development, procurement, staffing, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. A background in hospitality management will also be considered.
The anticipated opening date for the Queens hotel is late Spring 2026, however we are looking for an individual to work part-time through our design phase so they can play a key role in bringing the vision for this project to life. Once full time, the successful candidate can expect to earn up to $120,000 annually and have a partnership opportunity in the business in the future.
