J.D. Irving, Limited is currently seeking a motivated individual for the role of Operations Manager at the Doaktown Sawmill.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operation of the Doaktown site (sawmill, planermill, value added production lines, and logistics)

• Foster a safety culture by maintaining high safety standards, ensuring safety compliance, and assist in the development of effective safety policies
• Coach supervisors to provide effective training and support to team members

• Work collaboratively with other department managers and team leads
• Ensure customer needs are met or exceeded (quality, on-time delivery, and service)
• Identify, develop and lead process improvement across various areas of the operations

Qualifications:

• Education Required: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree
• Years of Experience Required:

• 3 years of experience in a leadership role
• 5 years in an industrial setting
• A strong commitment to safety and an understanding of behavior-based safety programs
• Process improvement experience would be considered an asset
• Expertise in technical aspects of manufacturing, such as, quality control, machine-center performance, optimization, and troubleshooting
• Collaborative mindset with a commitment to team building and shared success
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team-based environment with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
