POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Located in Calgary, AB. The Operations Manager provides effective management for warehouse operations while maintaining a high level of client service.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures efficient and economic operation of the warehouse by managing the improvement of warehouse operations, reviewing and modifying procedures, equipment/layouts etc.
  • Ensures that clients\xe2\x80\x99 needs are being met and corrective action is taken to address any problems or complaints.
  • Attends regular meetings with clients to review KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and Operational performance.
  • Hires and ensures that training takes place for new employees.
  • Handles employee-related matters including: conducting performance reviews, handling disciplinary issues, maintaining attendance records, ensuring employment standards comply with legislation, etc.
  • Liaise with Business Development regarding new client set-ups.
  • Liaise with I.T. regarding system-related matters.
  • Assists in preparation of the annual budget.
  • Provides recommendations regarding capital expenditure, e.g. new equipment.
  • Manages periodic checking of inventory.
  • Responsible for setting individual and team objectives, monitoring performance and meeting targets.
  • Plans staffing requirements to meet future operational needs.
  • Manages the housekeeping of the warehouse, e.g. safety, security, machine maintenance, layout, stocking, inventory control, etc.
  • Manages conformance to all GMP standards ensuring all required procedures are followed and required reporting is done on a timely basis.
  • On call 24 hours per day 7 days a week for emergencies.
Minimum education required:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain or Business preferred
Minimum experience required:
  • 5-7 years warehouse operations experience, including several at a supervisory level
  • 3PL experience preferred
  • Experience in a Unionized environment preferred
