The successful candidate will lead and direct all MRO operations. Responsibilities include ensuring heavy maintenance and modification projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with TCCA/CAR 573. This role is accountable for resource allocation, scheduling, and process adherence to deliver all projects on time and budget.
Key Responsibilities
Activity Management: Coordinate aircraft and component MRO work (e.g., C-checks, structural modifications).
MRO Leadership: Direct all MRO operational roles and responsibilities.
Resource Scheduling: Partner with program managers to schedule personnel, bays, tooling, and parts for maximum efficiency.
Process Optimization: Collaborate with production teams to streamline workflows and hit customer metrics.
Strategic Leadership: Align department goals with company strategy, manage department heads, and promote safety/accountability.
Single Point of Contact: Serve as the sole communication hub for all departmental managers, ensuring fast issue resolution.
Daily Control: Oversee day-to-day operations across production, program management, and support functions.
Manpower Allocation: Coordinate with Program Managers to balance labor distribution across projects.
Performance Monitoring: Track operational KPIs (e.g., schedule, labor efficiency, rework, utilization).
Tool Standardization: Ensure consistent use of standard processes, tools, and reporting methods.
Issue Escalation: Report systemic failures (capacity, supply chain, compliance) to the DOM.
Improvement Support: Champion continuous improvement efforts in planning, production, and quality.
Deputy Role: Act as the second-in-command for operations leadership to the DOM
. Compliance & DocumentationRegulatory Compliance: Verify all maintenance complies with CAR 573, MPM, and TCCA procedures.
Team Synergy: Foster cross-departmental collaboration (Quality, Safety, Purchasing) for smooth MRO operations.
Documentation Integrity: Ensure maintenance records are accurate, reviewed, and signed off by authorized staff.
Safety Culture: Promote a safety- and quality-first culture through on-the-floor leadership.
Policy Enforcement: Enforce the Safety Management System (SMS), OH&S, and hazard reporting rules.
Reliability Enhancement: Drive continuous improvement to boost operational reliability and safety performance.
Status Reporting: Deliver regular reports on maintenance progress, risks, and completion status.
Scope Control: Ensure quick documentation and communication of discrepancies or scope changes

Labor Metrics: Technician utilization and labor efficiency
