Job Description


Bluewater Adventures is a well-established, small, adventure tour company operating three sailing vessels along the British Columbia and Southeast Alaska coast from May to October. We are currently seeking a maternity leave coverage for our Logistics Coordinator role with the anticipated contract start date being
May 2023 and continuing until September 2024. The Logistics Coordinator role is based out of our North Vancouver office with typical hours being 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid work is an option.
Tour Logistics Coordination
Responsible for ensuring the smooth coordination of trip logistics through excellent planning, problem solving, and thorough communication. Liaise with local suppliers in remote coastal areas, BC Parks, and First Nations. Crewing & Scheduling
In collaboration with the Executive Director, be responsible for the posting, interviewing, and hiring of seasonal, school, and winter maintenance crew.
Create the school and season crew schedule. Create, track, and update crew contracts. Responsible for all crew travel and logistics throughout the season.
Responsible for all crew communication throughout the calendar year Off Season Projects
Use the winter to innovate and follow through on projects that could improve efficiency and add value to the company Marketing Support
Provide content for social media, newsletters, photograph and video support, promotions. Skills Required

  • Good computer/technology skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, or equivalents (ie Google Drive)
  • Strong communication skills including telephone manner. Able to adapt communication approach to ensure everyone is getting the information they need
  • General office skills: organization, time management, attention to detail, ability to prioritize work, and bookkeeping (A/R A/P).
Qualities & Experience Desired
  • Experience managing a group of up to 40 people
  • Experience in scheduling
  • Experience in remote trip planning an asset
  • Excellent initiative and time management skills
  • Strong interest in nature and conservation
  • Extensive experience in office environments
  • Very well-organized, efficient, and flexible for the variety of tasks
  • Ability to prioritize and take initiative on both short term and long term projects
  • Self-motivated and a good problem solver for success with little supervision
  • Friendly, dedicated to small business environment
  • Experience in travel industry an asset
  • Experience in education or outdoor adventures
  • British Columbia coastal marine experience an asset
What We Offer
Yearly salary starting at $50,000. After a three-month probationary period, the successful candidate has access to a Health & Wellness Spending Account covered 100% by Bluewater Adventures and the option to opt into the company benefits plan, paid for by the employee. Office staff can expect an end of year bonus in addition to their salary. Office staff have the option to split their work time between in office and a work from home setup, once training is complete.
