The demand for electricity is high \xe2\x80\x93 and getting higher \xe2\x80\x93 and big power plants aren\'t meeting our needs. We say it\'s time to disrupt and decentralize.

At Peak Power, we\'re energy nerds that develop software for the real estate sector. Our tech turns commercial buildings and industrial facilities into virtual power plants in a new, decentralized electricity system. This means cleaner, more reliable, and more affordable electricity. Peak Power develops and connects battery storage, grid-interactive buildings, and electric vehicle assets in a single software platform for partners to pursue net zero goals, cut operating expenses, and unlock new revenue opportunities.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Operations Specialist - Sangit, the Operations Intern will be an efficient, data literate and collaborative problem solver who will help drive the day-to-day operations of our innovative Peak Drive project. Peak Drive is the vehicle-to-grid project that is enabling Peak Power to build its VGI technology platform (for more information, please visit PeakDriveEnergy.com). This role includes on-site support for Peak Event Days, which occur on approximately 20 to 40 days a year typically during the hottest days of the summer. We currently operate two vehicle locations in downtown Toronto.

Our new Operations Intern will:

Deliver. You have excellent time management skills to meet or exceed operational performance targets. You excel in a fast-moving environment.

Contribute to operations performance targets and learning objectives while supporting day-to-day operational needs

Coordinate vehicle locations for peak events and test events, including moving vehicles and providing on-site support as needed

Maintain and monitor fleet vehicle health to ensure vehicle availability for peak events

Report. You will monitor and report operations metrics and provide feedback to help improve processes and efficiency.

Utilize current tracking systems to enable operations and data analysis

Track data and propose metrics for relevant operations factors to enable business model analysis for various VGI mobility use cases

Identify opportunities for improvement of VGI operations performance, data systems and process efficiencies

Collaborate. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate coordination with internal departments and customers. You are open to giving and receiving feedback in a collaborative team setting to develop and improve upon successful operational approaches.

Assist with day-to-day communications with Peak Drive customers

Provide \xe2\x80\x98white glove\xe2\x80\x99 customer service to Peak Drive customers and pursue timely resolution of technical or customer experience issues

Support additional communications needs as applicable, including newsletters, marketing initiatives, Peak Drive partnership initiatives, and others as required

Coordinate with technical teams and external resources to resolve vehicle issues.

Grow. You are a critical thinker who can meet short- and medium-term needs whilst seizing opportunities to create value towards Peak Power\xe2\x80\x99s long-term vision for VGI.

Proactively identify opportunities to improve operational performance, efficiency and scalability and contribute learnings and insights to support Peak Power\xe2\x80\x99s VGI growth

What you bring to Peak Power:

The education. Currently pursuing a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a business or STEM related field and possess a valid driving license. Additional education or training in operations management, data analysis or electric vehicles and charging is valued but not required.

The experience. You strive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, team coordination role. Specific experience with operations coordination, databases or programming, analytics, and/or subject matter experience in the vehicle or electricity sectors is valued but not required.

The drive and curiosity. You have a roll up your sleeves attitude, someone who is ready to tackle any challenge, and you are motivated to solve problems and support team success. You are passionate about contributing to innovative solutions to climate change.

The flexibility. You are flexible to adapt your activities as needed to support evolving team needs and the timing of peak events. You will be working out of multiple locations and remotely via web meetings, phone, and email. This role provides opportunities for flexible working arrangements. You will be required to work outside of usual business hours to help coordinate our peak events, which will include evenings and some weekends.
