Based in Quesnel, BC we have an immediate opening for: Operations Accounting Lead Reporting to the Segment Controllers, the Operations Accounting Lead will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of Western Canadian accounting and compliance including reviewing month end work papers and financial reports, supporting divisional staff through month end accounting issues and reviewing new accounting issues for compliance with accounting principles and WF policies and procedures. Responsibilities:
  • Coordination of accounting processes for the divisions in Western Canada
  • Oversee and verify integrity of financial records for assigned divisions
  • Oversee mill accountants in maintaining inventory and cost control processes
  • Guide division controllers through month, quarter, and year end close process
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls are established and adhered to
  • Support Sarbanes Oxley activities and all related compliance activities
As the ideal candidate you will have:
  • A professional accounting designation \xe2\x80\x93 CPA,
  • Related work experience of 5-7 years (depending on type) is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Oracle financial system experience required
