We also proactively respond to environmental, conservation, animal, and human health risks and work to develop programs and deliver services to enhance protection in these areas.About Our OpportunityReporting to the Manager of Operations, you will be responsible for coordinating work to develop policies, procedures and standard approaches for work associated with the management of designated Wilderness Areas and Nature Reserves in Nova Scotia.
Priorities include conducting a review of, and updating, existing policies and procedures, developing new policies and procedures, and developing tools, templates and guidance as required.This work will contribute to an efficient operational work environment focused on effective administration and management of Wilderness Areas and Nature Reserves. Work may involve processing requests from stakeholders and the public, helping ensure consistency across regions, and identifying ways to improve service to Nova Scotian's interacting with protected areas.Qualifications and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will, as a minimum, have a bachelor's degree in a related field and experience working in policy development or planning. Experience working with legislation, government policies, procedures and decision-making processes is considered an asset. Experience relevant to protected areas, land conservation, or natural resource management will be considered assets as well.
