Position Summary



The

Operational Manager

will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of in-store operations. This includes managing staff, inventory, customer experience, order fulfillment, supplier relationships, compliance, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong background in liquor retail management, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of operational efficiency in both brick-and-mortar and e-commerce settings.

Key ResponsibilitiesIn-Store Operations



Oversee all daily in-store activities and ensure smooth and efficient store operations Lead, schedule, and motivate retail staff to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain store standards Monitor product displays, cleanliness, security, and merchandising Implement and uphold company policies and operational procedures Ensure compliance with all provincial liquor regulations and health & safety guidelines Handle in-store customer complaints and service issues with professionalism

Online Store Operations



Oversee order processing, fulfillment, and shipping for online sales Coordinate with the marketing and tech teams to ensure product listings, inventory, and promotions are accurate and up to date Ensure packaging, shipping, and delivery are executed efficiently and cost-effectively Monitor website operations, troubleshoot order issues, and manage customer inquiries Collaborate with logistics partners to streamline shipping processes and improve delivery performance

Inventory & Supply Chain



Manage and track inventory across both channels to maintain optimal stock levels Oversee receiving, product organization, and stock rotation Coordinate and maintain strong relationships with distributors and suppliers Conduct regular audits and reporting on inventory accuracy and shrinkage

Team Management



Train, and supervise in-store staff and warehouse/fulfillment team Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and team-building activities Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional work environment

Reporting & Administration



Develop and maintain operational reports, KPIs, and performance dashboards Prepare schedules, track hours, and oversee payroll submissions Analyze sales and operational data to identify opportunities for cost-saving or growth Collaborate with ownership on budgeting, strategic planning, and expansion opportunities

Qualifications



5+ years of experience in retail management, operations, or logistics (liquor store or food/beverage experience a strong asset) Knowledge of liquor regulations in Alberta (or your province) is required Experience with Shopify, inventory management systems, and POS software Strong leadership skills and a hands-on management style Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail Strong communication skills (verbal and written) WSET Level 2 (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
