Job Title: Operational Excellence Practitioner


Department: Operational Excellence


Position Reporting To: Site Operational Excellence Lead


Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

General Description:




The Operational Excellence Practitioner role exists to deploy and embed Operational Excellence into the Site, delivering the Business Strategy and improve Business Performance (Quality, Safety, Service, Cost, and Innovation).

Responsibilities:




Key Responsibilities

Supporting the site teams in Operational Excellence roll-out; making sure that Operational Excellence is being used to develop the capability of all the Site personnel to implement day to day continuous improvement activities. Helping ensure the day to day continuous improvement activities result in a continuous improvement in the Site Performance towards the goal of Zero Accidents, Zero Defects and Zero Waste. Conducting self assessments of the Site vs. benchmark Lean and Sis Sigma standards and to develop plans to close any gaps. Provide coaching and training to the Site teams in Operational Excellence. Support day-to-day deployment of the Operational Excellence and performance improvement activities at site. Delivering according to the Operational Excellence implementation approach / road map agreed with the Site Leadership Team. Work with line managers to identify and agree the priorities for Operational Excellence deployment. Actively role modeling Operational Excellence skills and behaviors. Support/ensure consistency of progress and deployment. Coach Site team leaders and operators to develop sustain continuous improvement mindsets and behaviors. Provide expert advice on the Operational Excellence basics to the Site based on a in depth understanding of Operational Excellence. Lead Operational Excellence activities beyond the capability of the Site Teams

Qualifications




Experience and Skills

Theoretical and practical knowledge and experience of at least 1 Operational Excellence improvement model such as Lean Manufacturing, SixSigma, Quality by Design etc. Minimum 3-5 years of experience. Held a number of positions in a manufacturing environment, covering a broad range of activities and operations (e.g. Production, Engineering, Quality Assurance/Logistics/ Minimum Level of Job Related Safety). Demonstrated delivery of improvement initiatives and/or culture change year on year resulting in both financial and nonfinancial benefit, and behavioral change. Good level of understanding of Lean / 6Sigma (Master Black Belt/ Black Belt / Green belt possible) Problem solving in the context of site goals. People change management concepts and practice. Training skills. Coaching skills. Project planning and execution management.

Education




Required:

University Degree (BSc) or equivalent.

Preferred:

Qualifications (Black Belt/Green Belt) in a Continuous Improvement Model such as Lean Manufacturing or SixSigma.

Working Conditions:



On-site role. Some business travel may be required. Some occasional out of regular hours working may be required.
