Global Mission of the position
As Operation Manager, you will lead and manage the daily operations of Groupe Lebel's treated wood and wood dressing facility in Bancroft, ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality transformation of lumber products. You will be responsible for overseeing production, maintenance, quality control, safety compliance, labor management and continuous improvement initiatives in line with corporate goals and sustainability commitments.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Operation Management
Oversee all plant functions including Production, Quality and Health and Safety;
Ensure production targets are met (volume, quality, lead time, cost);
Coordinate logistics of inbound raw lumber and outbound products;
Manage inventory and production scheduling.

Team Leadership
Supervise, develop, and support a team of production workers, supervisors, maintenance staff, and support personnel (approx. 50 employees);
Foster a culture of accountability, safety and collaboration;
Conduct regular performance evaluations and support training and skill development.

Maintenance & Equipment
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of key equipment;
Manage maintenance budget and liaise with equipment vendors as needed.
4.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure adherence to product specifications;
Maintain certifications, traceability, and quality documentation;
Enforce environmental, health, and safety regulations in compliance with provincial and federal standards.
5.
Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements (efficiency, yield, waste reduction);
Monitor KPIs and plant metrics;
Participate in Groupe Lebel's lean manufacturing and innovation initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience :
College diploma or university degree in industrial, mechanical, wood engineering, or equivalent field;
Minimum 5-7 years of supervisory or managerial experience in wood products manufacturing (treated wood preferred).
Skills & Competencies :
Proven leadership and team development abilities;
Strong knowledge of wood treatment processes and plant operations;
Analytical and data-driven decision-making;
Proficient in production planning software, Excel and ERP systems;
Bilingual (English/French) is an asset, but not required.
