Metro Infrastructure is looking for an experienced project manager to apply to our Design / Engineering Department. This is a full-time position, reporting out of our Brampton office. You would be responsible for ensuring large-scale telecommunications projects are completed with demanding deadlines. Reporting to the Director of Design and Engineering and Director of Operations you will be responsible to attend internal and customer weekly meetings, scheduling, budgeting, and supervision. This position requires close interaction with Metro Infrastructure\xe2\x80\x99s civil team, design team, permitting team, survey team and splicing team. You will be involved in a full project\xe2\x80\x99s life-cycle, from start to completion. Responsibilities \xc2\xb7 Understand and follow customer provided procedures to deliver Fiber to the Home, Centralized and Distributed splitting architecture, splicing and other aspects and technology of fiber networks \xc2\xb7 Prepare and manage project schedules and budgets \xc2\xb7 Monitor and maintain customer design processes and procedures. \xc2\xb7 Perform weekly team meetings \xc2\xb7 Hands-on design and QC work \xc2\xb7 Prepare project reports and provide milestone updates on a regular basis \xc2\xb7 Work closely with Design / Draw team, CAD Staff, Project Coordinators and other internal resources to execute projects within a timely fashion, whilst maintaining budgetary restraints \xc2\xb7 Assist in the hiring, training and mentorship of staff for fibre, and possibly coax, or copper design \xc2\xb7 Interpret field survey to determine Scope of Work required. (Cable route planning & survey of routes for feasibility of construction) \xc2\xb7 Ensure surveyors are collecting all required information and equipment from field \xc2\xb7 Produce & QC designs for FTTx, backbone architecture, as well as XGS-PON in both greenfield and brownfield applications \xc2\xb7 Understand and communicate Municipal Consent requirements with the Permit Department and Coordinators in order to gather and provide accurate information with regards to permit packages \xc2\xb7 Determine method to design the plant changes with minimal impact to the system/customer and minimize related construction cost and ensures quality of design Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Excellent leadership, customer relations and communications skills \xc2\xb7 Minimum 5+ years Designing or Managing a team designing Fiber networks including FTTx, Architecture, Segmentation (and other uplift), and green field design. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of customer mapping and draw tools \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of CSA standards, MCR and utility standards, ESA 2204 \xc2\xb7 AutoCAD and software-based spreadsheets and databases would be an asset. \xc2\xb7 Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a safe driving record. \xc2\xb7 Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Project). \xc2\xb7 Strong analytical skills \xc2\xb7 Strong verbal and written communication skills \xc2\xb7 Strong Problem-solving Skills \xc2\xb7 Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, changing and highly energetic environment; \xc2\xb7 Ability to work under pressure in meeting project deadlines \xc2\xb7 Ability to work both independently and in a team environment \xc2\xb7 Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
