Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

To provide technical support assisting service and selling activities at single or multiple customer locations by understanding each customer's business and helping customers understand how Grainger Canada can provide solutions to their business needs

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proficiency and ongoing training with Clear Spider, Advantage Web and MP8 databases
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support for dispensing and scanning solutions
  • Service the customer's specific technical needs where identified by customer, OSSR or OSSM
  • Provide support to all Grainger Canada branded KeepStock solutions when technical expertise is required
  • Maintain professional, branded personal appearance
  • Conduct discussions with customers to understand and resolve problematic issues to ensure customer satisfaction and opportunities for KeepStock expansion
  • Implement and provide on-going support for customers and OSSRs:
  • Provide customer training based on the implemented solution
  • Assist customers with systems integrations
  • Work with OSSM to ensure proper use of technology and appropriate solution selection at customer locations
  • May participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) Team meetings and CI on-site initiatives as required
  • Call on customer personnel/locations when technical expertise is requested by customer or manager
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • May be required to oversee the lease and maintenance of Grainger Canada vehicle
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required for the position
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum college diploma with focus on sales and marketing, or equivalent experience
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong understanding of technology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently
  • Superior interpersonal skills and excellent customer service skills, proactive thinking and the ability to analyze technical issues
  • The diverse nature of the position will demand that the incumbent be versatile, flexible and able to multi-task easily
  • Must have and maintain a thorough knowledge of Grainger Canada's products and services.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Certification in WHMIS, TDG, and NORCAT.
