Onsite Project Coordinator / Assistant Superintendent
To give a clear overview of the duties and responsibilities of key positions within our company structure.
Reporting to the Project Manager or Site Superintendent, the onsite project coordinator will help lead a team of construction professionals. This position is responsible for assisting the site, in managing the construction activities on the project, as well as directing the D. Grant labour. The onsite project coordinator helps to implement and enforce D. Grant Construction Limited (DG) policies and programs, which ensures the project is safely constructed in accordance with design, quality expectations, budget and schedule.
Assist in supervising and coordinating all daily on-site construction activities
Help to implement the company's Health and Safety Policy and Program, in creating a safe work environment throughout the jobsite. This includes preparing, reviewing, distributing and adhering to safety documents, record keeping and disciplinary action
Outline and direct / instruct DG employees with respect to day-to-day tasks/activities
Hold employees and subcontractors accountable for safety performance
Support the Project Manager and Site Superintendent in developing a construction plan to manage employee and subcontractor activities
If required, ensure that timesheets for DG employees are submitted weekly to HO
Complete daily reports and submit to the head office weekly
Review and understand the subcontractor scopes of work and schedule
Assist in ensuring that project plans and schedules are followed, and that they meet the design requirements / intent
Ensure that an adequate number of photographs, showing progress and issues, are taken weekly and reviewed with the Site Superintendent
Be responsible for monitoring and effective management of all rental equipment
Advise on any quality or workmanship issues
Assist with material take-offs and the ordering of materials
Complete deficiency reviews and monitor the remedial progress
Complete onsite layout, and verification of subcontractor layout
Act on behalf of the Site Superintendent, should they be off-site for whatever reason
Perform additional duties assigned by senior management or the Site Superintendent as required for successful project completion
3 years minimum institutional-commercial-residential (ICI) construction experience
In-depth knowledge of the construction industry operations specifically construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures, construction safety.
Working knowledge of MS Office and ability to learn new software as needed
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
