About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Virtual Production / VFX Supervisor
to lead and oversee our on-set and real-time workflows for advertising and brand campaigns. This role demands both
creative sensibility and technical mastery
-- someone fluent in cinematography, lighting, and on-set collaboration, while also confident in Unreal Engine and real-time systems.
You'll work closely with directors, DPs, producers, and VFX teams to design and deliver cinematic, photoreal environments inside our LED volume. Your ability to bridge artistic vision with technical execution will be key to maintaining SP Studios' reputation for innovation and visual excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning, setup, and execution of in-studio virtual production shoots (LED wall, camera tracking, real-time rendering).
Act as the
on-set bridge
between directors, DPs, and VFX teams -- ensuring creative intent is preserved through real-time workflows.
Collaborate with cinematographers on
lighting, exposure, lensing, and camera placement
for photoreal in-camera results.
Supervise LED wall operations, including media-server integration, colour calibration, and Unreal Engine environment playback.
Manage integration between Unreal Engine, Blender, and other tools (Maya, Houdini, or Cinema 4D) for seamless asset deployment.
Oversee real-time scene optimization for visual fidelity, latency, and performance.
Troubleshoot technical challenges efficiently during live production.
Document best practices, maintain pipelines, and mentor junior team members.
Liaise with producers, agency clients, and technical vendors to ensure smooth creative and technical operations.
Qualifications
2+ years on physical sets
in a VFX, cinematography, or virtual production capacity.
Proven expertise with
Unreal Engine 5
(Blueprints, Sequencer, lighting, rendering).
Proficient in
Blender
; familiarity with Maya, Houdini, or Cinema 4D is an asset.
Strong understanding of
camera systems, lenses, motion tracking, and colour pipelines (ACES)
.
Hands-on experience with
LED wall / green-screen / in-camera VFX
workflows.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
Confident communicator with
directors, DPs, and producers
, able to discuss creative vision and technical feasibility fluently.
Strong leadership, collaboration, and mentorship abilities.
Bonus Skills
Knowledge of
nDisplay
, media servers (Disguise, Brompton), and networked rendering setups.
Experience with motion capture or volumetric capture workflows.
Scripting / automation experience (Python, C++).
Background in traditional cinematography or lighting.
