Job Description

Production Reliever is a flexible, hands-on production team member who plays a key role in multiple stages of bakery operations. This employee is responsible for accurately preparing dough, smear and frosting, baking products to meet quality standards, safely palletizing finished goods for storage and shipment, and stepping in to operate various production machines when needed. The role requires attention to detail, a commitment to food safety and quality, and the ability to adapt quickly to different tasks to support continuous production flow.

Have previous experience in a food manufacturing plant. Bakery experience is preferred Reliable, punctual, and ready to work flexible tasks each shift. Comfortable lifting, standing, and working in a fast-paced environment. Team player who helps where needed and communicates well with others. Have attention to detail and are comfortable working with a team with diverse background. Have ability to communicate in English (verbal and written) Well versed with GMP's, SOP's, HAACP, OHS and other quality and safety programs in food processing environments. Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; works with integrity and ethically. Ability to work flexible hours (Whenever needed)

Responsibilities:



Visually inspect product for quality deviations. Monitor quality for make up as to proper size, surface defects, rolling and general shape and ensure line speeds and strokes per minute are maintained as per schedule. Responds positively with sense of urgency while meeting quality standards. Works in a safe, clean and responsible manner. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Know and follow GMP guidelines, Food Safety Guidelines and Safety Guidelines. Maintain required hygiene and follows safety practices as established. Performs all product-handling activities (i.e., Mixing, Baking, packing, palletizing, etc.) as required by position. Perform basic equipment checks and troubleshoot minor issues. Operate mixers and other mixing equipment safely and efficiently and complete all required production and quality records. Recognize and report any signs of product tampering. Operate ovens and baking equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Load and unload racks or trays in ovens as required and monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure product quality. Inspect finished baked goods for quality, consistency, and appearance and follow proper cooling and handling procedures. Stack finished products onto pallets in an organized and safe manner. Wrap and label pallets accurately. Move finished pallets to designated storage or shipping areas (In some cases). Effectively communicate with Supervisors, Managers, co-workers and department staff from all areas of operation. Overtime hours may be required based on work demand. Employee must be flexible with the work hours as needed. Might need to work different shifts and work weekends.*
Maintain cleanliness, equipment and work areas must be kept organized, clean and sanitary throughout the shift. End of shift requires removal of any waste and garbage generated during the shift. Ensure proper care of equipment. Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Report any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition. Support, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs. Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly. Other duties as assigned

Reliable, punctual, and able to respond to on-call scheduling as needed


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Manual dexterity and utilization of both hands and all fingers is required. The employee is frequently required to bend and stoop. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25kgs and lift and/or move more than 25kgs with the aid of a co-worker. The employee must push/pull equipment, manual or automated pallet jacks, climb ladder and other equipment. Frequent flexing, extending, and turning of the neck and head are required.
