JOB SUMMARY



Ottawa Public Health is responsible for providing public health programs and services that contribute to the physical mental health and well-being of the residents of Ottawa, in compliance with Ontario Ministry of Health standards, protocols and guidelines and other related public health legislation. In partnership with the people and communities of Ottawa, Ottawa Public Health improves and advocates for health and well-being through prevention, promotion and protection.

You are responsible for providing leadership in the foundational aspects of Ottawa Public Health's operations which includes operational planning, strategic planning and oversight, performance measurement, risk management, policy development, quality improvement and evaluation and other related activities as needed. You will work within the Practice, Performance and Strategy Team, which is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary group of public health professionals committed to collaboration and innovation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



Completion of Master's degree in health related studies, administration, social science or the equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of experience in research, policy and program development and analysis, project management and evaluation
Experience in a public health setting is desirable

KNOWLEDGE


Program evaluation models, theories and best practices Principles and best practices in strategic and operational planning Performance measurement and quality improvement Exposure to change management models Data analysis techniques and tools Project management Sources of health data Microsoft Office applications Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, etc.)and software related to word-processing, database management, statistical analysis, project management Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.




Desirable Qualifications:
Knowledge of survey and data analysis software (Qualtrics, Microsoft Forms, Power BI, Excel) LEAN or other quality improvement training
