The Opportunity



Elections Manitoba is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as an Office Manager/Executive Assistant. Reporting directly to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), the successful candidate will ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of EM and provide high-level executive support. This position plays a key role in enabling the CEO and the organization to operate effectively.

Qualifications:


Essential Skills/expertise




Post-secondary education in Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered High-level experience providing executive administrative support to executive and senior level staff, such as the preparation of correspondence, coordinating meetings, developing budgets, anticipating needs, and following up on actions arising. Demonstrated knowledge of the structure and operation of executive committees and executive committee decision-making. Demonstrated supervisory and/or leadership skills Strong ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed, and action to be taken. Experience developing policies and applying principles and techniques involved. Demonstrated political acumen and the ability to manage confidential, controversial, and politically sensitive material and situations with tact and diplomacy. Exceptional verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy with senior government officials, the media and members of the public Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex and detailed information, and experience writing professional letters, emails, memos and other business documents. Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities under tight timelines.

Elections Manitoba is seeking candidates who are willing to work on a flexible schedule when operations require; this may include working outside of standard office hours, and willingness to work additional hours, such as during election periods.



Duties:


The Office Manager/Executive Assistant is accountable for providing direct administrative support including conducting research and compiling information for the purposes of producing summaries and supporting reports, managing the CEO's calendar, scheduling meetings and logistics to ensure smooth and efficient office operations.
