Manager/Bookkeeper
to lead our financial operations and ensure accurate, compliant, and insightful reporting across our companies.
Role Summary
This Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all financial functions across our mortgage, private lending, and insurance sectors. The candidate will handle end-to-end bookkeeping, regulatory reporting, lender agreements, licensing, and administrative financial analytics. Ideally you bring experience in lending bookkeeping and thrive in a highly regulated, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Management
Maintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping for mortgage, private lending, and insurance aspects of the business
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries
Oversee private lending trust accounting, interest tracking, investor payments, and loan disbursements
Reconcile lender and broker commission statements
Reporting & Analytics
Prepare and analyze monthly financial and broker reports
Generate management and operational reports for internal decision-making
Track key financial metrics and identify trends to support business growth
Create yearly budgets and goals for our various companies
Regulatory & Compliance
Prepare and submit regulatory paperwork to governing bodies
Manage annual renewals and compliance filings for licenses (mortgage brokers, insurers, etc.)
Ensure compliance with trust accounting and private lending regulations
Administrative Finance
Support the drafting, review, and execution of lender agreements
Assist in insurance and mortgage license renewals and audits
Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required
Payroll & Compliance
Cross-train with existing staff on payroll system & compliance requirements
Provide back-up relief on heavy weeks and scheduled vacation time
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
3+ years experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management
Strong knowledge of accounting principles
Proficiency in Quickbooks
Proficiency with Excel
Experience working in a regulated financial services environment
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong Excel and financial reporting and analysis skills
You currently in Calgary or surrounding communities
Preferred:
Experience in
lending bookkeeping
(mortgage, private or institutional lending)
Experience working with lender agreements and private lending structures
Background in insurance and/or mortgage brokerage operations
