Office Manager / Bookkeeper

Job Description

We are a residential construction company seeking a detail-oriented, analytical Full Cycle Bookkeeper/Office Administrator with strong knowledge of construction or project-based accounting to play a key role within our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our operations through accurate financial processing, managing payroll, active cash management, and reliable monthly reconciliation reports and year-end support. In this role, you will work independently about 95% of the time, taking ownership of day-to-day accounting tasks of six companies. You will also collaborate with our management team to provide reporting and process improvements. Key Responsibilities



Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger maintenance Process payroll and EFT payments through RBC Express Process Agreements of Purchase and Sale and Statements of Adjustments Prepare and issue client Statement of Accounts in a timely and accurate manner, always maintaining profession communications with clients and coworkers Complete monthly and year-end reconciliations Prepare and remit HST, WSIB, EHT and other government filings on time Conduct daily and month end reconciliations of bank and visa statements for all companies Handle petty cash and bank deposits in a secure manner Prepare T-4's and year end working paper files for year-end accountants Prepare profit and loss job reports and cash flow reports for the President Prepare monthly margin report for TD Bank Work professionally with our lawyers, bankers, and staff in a confidential manner Order office and kitchen supplies as needed

Qualifications & Skills



College Diploma or University Degree in Accounting or Business Administration. 3-5 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience; experience in construction or real estate is an asset. Proficiency with Quickbooks Desktop Accounting Software, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Sheets. Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Clear, professional communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach.
