Job Description

Terra Housing Co-operative Ltd. is seeking a professional, experienced, self motivated individual to complete office duties for our housing cooperative. The role requires an individual who is able to work independently as well as maintain a close working relationship with the Board of Directors, the membership and the volunteer committees.

Terra Housing Cooperative is a dynamic community consisting of 48 units on the west side of Saskatoon. The office coordinator is responsible for daily management of the office and coordinating seven committees who in turn are responsible for operating the Co-operative. We are looking for a motivated individual capable of handling diverse situations, people and circumstances to fill the part-time position.

The position is a part-time contract position offering 20 hours per week and the duties include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

??????Book keeping duties such as managing accounts receivable and payable, financial reporting,

??????Administrative duties including filing, writing corresponding, answering phones and maintaining an office space.

??????Maintaining a waiting list, marketing units, working with volunteer committees to recommend new members and ensuring new members are educated in their rights and responsibilities.

??????Meeting legal requirements by ensuring the co-op complies with the Co-operatives Act, provincial and municipal laws and its own by-laws and policies. Reporting to government agencies and our auditor to ensure the audited financial statements are complete and accurate.

??????Supporting good governance by offering the Board of Directors and other committees the information and advice they need to make a sound decisions, ensuring the meeting are well prepared for and minutes are kept.

??????Report to the Board of Directors of the Co-operative.

??????Communicating with the maintenance manager to ensure the co-op responds promptly to maintenance issues.

??????Two evenings per year required to attend the Co-operative's AGM and GM.

Qualifications:

??????Administrative experience. Experience managing a business, finances, preference to QuickBooks experience.

??????Knowledge of property management systems and procedures

??????Excellent written and verbal communication skills

??????Time management skills

??????Proficient in MS office including excel and word

??????Demonstrate professionalism and discretion, when dealing with confidential information

??????Experience working with a member run, non-profit organization, member run committees and Board of Directors

??????Applicant cannot have a personal relationship with any member of the co-operative

??????Driver's License required.

??????Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening) required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
