Hiring Unit:
The Career Planning Service (CaPS) supports McGill students and recent alumni in the exploration of their career options. This includes not only internships but also permanent, part-time, and summer job searches. CaPS also help students develop lifelong career management skills by providing workshops, individual advising, a comprehensive job posting service, and an extensive Career Resource Centre.
Main Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent may perform some or all of the listed general administration functions:Manage the front desk area and provide excellent customer service to students, internal and external stakeholders.
Greet students and direct them to the appropriate person.
Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
Answer inquiries of a general nature.
Schedule student appointments.
Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or AbilitiesKnowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
Experience in customer service.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
