Lead day-to-day shop-floor production for premium commercial furniture and architectural millwork serving office, hospitality, retail, and multi-unit projects across the Lower Mainland. You'll coordinate people, process, and quality to meet safety, schedule, and delivery targets.
What you'll do
Supervise daily operations across CNC/edgebanding, casework assembly, veneering/finishing, and shipping to hit output and quality goals.
Convert shop drawings into executable work orders; sequence jobs, assign crews, balance loads across cells and shifts.
Champion a safety-first culture (tooling guards, LOTO, WHMIS); ensure WorkSafeBC compliance and SOP adherence.
Drive 5S/Lean improvements (setup reduction, waste elimination, first-pass yield) and coordinate preventative maintenance.
Own daily stand-ups, shift handoffs, and production reporting; partner with Design/Engineering, Project Management, and Installations.
Monitor quality checkpoints at each stage; coach team leads on workmanship standards for laminates, veneer, solid wood, and metal accents.
Track materials and work orders in ERP/MRP; flag risks early and keep schedules on track.
What you bring
3-5+ years supervising in furniture, cabinetry, or custom millwork manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of modern woodworking processes and equipment (CNC router, panel saw, edgebander, press, spray/finish).
Proven production scheduling/resource planning in a high-mix, custom environment; comfortable with KPIs and shift coordination.
Solid safety knowledge (LOTO/WHMIS) and experience training teams on safe work procedures.
Ability to read/interpret technical and shop drawings; confident with tolerances and fit/finish requirements.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP and MS Office (or similar) for work orders, materials, and reporting.
Nice to have
Red Seal Cabinetmaker/Joiner or equivalent trades training.
Exposure to AutoCAD/SketchUp for shop-floor clarification and basic CNC programming (e.g., Homag/Biesse).
Schedule & environment
On-site in our Vancouver shop; day shift with occasional overtime to meet install dates for Lower Mainland projects.
