Job Description

Our company is seeking an office administrator, in which we refer to as an admin. We will provide full training for the candidate that is the right fit.

Positec Pest & Wildlife Control is a family business that was established in 1983 and services the regions of Halton, Durham, York, Peel, Hamilton, Kitchener - Waterloo and Toronto. We are a busy and growing company. Our clients and staff are all great to work with. Our business was built primarily on the following criteria:

4. As a result, referrals and word of mouth have made up 95% of our business.

We are now hiring an office admin to be part of our team and family. The successful candidate will be passionate about helping others and will have experience working in a customer-focused environment. This is an entry-level position with growth potential and a lot of responsibility, so we're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, and a team player that is willing to learn and grow.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

1. Perform all work based on our system, and ensure that all policies and procedures are being observed and followed.

2. Perform all admin duties efficiently to ensure effective operation of the company.

3. Focus on building and maintaining excellent relationships and customer satisfaction with all new and existing clients.

4. Maintain regular communication, as well as a positive work environment and excellent relationships with all staff.

5. Ensure that all scheduled work on each workday is completed properly and accurately.

6. Represent our company in a professional, positive and friendly manner.

7. Properly maintain all office equipment, and keep office/work area neat, clean and organized.

8. Be able to work independently, and as part of the team as required.

9. Keep abreast of pest control industry changes, regulations, products and procedures in order to effectively and knowledgably communicate with clients and the team.

10. Perform such duties as answering the phone, responding to emails, compiling reports and invoices, preparing documents and letters, maintaining accurate up-to-date records and filing systems, and scheduling staff for their daily routes.

11. Perform other admin duties and support as required.

Requirements include:

1. High school or equivalent

2. Previous experience working in an office, administrative, reception or customer service role is an asset

3. Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English. A second language is a bonus

4. No criminal record

5. Legally entitled to work in Canada

6. Ability to take direction and is open to feedback

7. Works well with others

9. Analytical and has good problem-solving skills

10. Cares about the work, the clients, and the team

11. Great customer service and relationship building skills

12. Be willing to follow our system

13. Neat, clean and professional appearance

17. Proficiency with computers and office software such as Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

Job Type: Part-time to start, and full-time once fully trained and passed probation.

Hours: 20+ hours per week to start.

Pay: $19 per hour during training, and escalating hourly pay once fully trained and passed probation.

Location: All work takes place in person at our office and warehouse space located by Highway 400 and 401. There is free on-site parking, and TTC busses also stop in front of the space.
