Position Overview
The Administrative Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Childhood Connections- Strong Roots Centre. This position is responsible for a range of administrative and operational duties, including assisting families, supporting staff, coordinating communications, and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations at the Strong Roots Centre.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Support: Assist with onboarding new staff and managing documentation on the HR platform.
Financial and Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processes and general financial administration.
Social Media: Create and manage content for social media channels to promote programs and events.
Reception and Front Desk Duties: Answer phones, respond to email inquiries, and provide on-site support to families using the community kitchen.
Administrative Support:
Provide clerical support for all program staff at the Strong Roots Centre
Maintain office supplies and equipment
Perform general office duties as required
Cleaning and Tidiness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of office areas.
Required Skills and Experience
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Experience working with diverse families and communities
Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
Strong computer literacy and administrative skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years experience in administrative or reception roles, or equivalent education
HR and payroll experience (preferred)
Social media experience (preferred)
Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other office software
Current First Aid certification
Clear Criminal Record Check (required)
Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to a busy, high-traffic environment
Occasional solo work in the office
Must follow the policies outlined in the Childhood Connections Employee Handbook
Hours may fluctuate based on funding and program needs
