POSITION: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY/PHYSIOTHERAPY ASSISTANT

Casual
(Shifts: 8 - hour days, 7 days/week)

REPORTS TO: Manager, Therapies & Professional Practice

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $30.02 to $31.89 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of recognized Rehabilitation or Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist Assistant

Program
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification


EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience working with inpatients and outpatients in the areas of rehabilitation, medicine,

complex continuing care, stroke, surgery and critical care

ABILITIES:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to function in an interprofessional team model

Ability to determine priorities and manage time effectively

Critical thinking, problem solving, decision making skills

Computer, word processing skills

Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications

Knowledge of anatomy, therapeutic modalities and exercise, disabling conditions, health

Sciences
Valid Ontario drivers' license and ability to travel among sites, as required
