Acadia Physical Therapy and Health Centre is looking for a motivated Occupational therapist (OT) to join our multidisciplinary team. As an OT, you will provide services to individuals who suffer from chronic pain and concussions in collaboration with other health professionals such as physiotherapists, psychologist, Kinesiologists and Massage therapists. You will work towards achieving optimal function in their cognitive, affective, and physical domains. Your duties would include the following:
Administering neurocognitive tests in concussion- tests of memory, attention, concentration, visuo-spatial functioning, executive functioning
Sleep assessment and training in individuals with sleep dysfunction
Addressing Fear avoidance behaviours, catastrophizing and maladaptive behaviours- PGAP training would be an asset*
Occupational training and facilitating return to work
Qualifications:
An Occupational Therapist in good standing with the Alberta college of Occupational therapists
Training in Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP)
Ability to work independently and as part of an inter-disciplinary team
Excellent interpersonal skills
Type of position: Contract, part-time
