JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide assessment and treatment (virtual and in-person) to individuals that have sustained complex orthopaedic injuries, neurological injuries (brain injuries, spinal cord injuries) chronic pain, psychological impairments, developmental disabilities, and/or are dealing with the effects of traumatic injuries (e.g., orthopaedic, spinal cord, and traumatic brain injuries).
Services are mainly provided in-person.
Assist client's with establishing meaningful short- and long-term goals.
Make recommendations to address client's needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Evaluate and document the effectiveness of the intervention, client's response, and progress towards goal attainment.
Produce Occupational Therapy Reports in accordance with formats and standards of the company.
Supervise Rehabilitation Coaches
Liaise and collaborate with clients, family members, rehabilitation team members (including Family Physicians, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech Language Pathologists, and Psychologists), and community partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle
Strong report writing skills and attention to detail
Strong oral communication and consultative skills
Effective time management and organization skill
Experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the automobile sector, including knowledge of the FSCO / FSRA guidelines and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS) is an asset
