The Hullabaloo

is a 7000+ sq ft multidisciplinary treatment centre in

Mississauga

servicing children with autism and other developmental disabilities. We are seeking a

full-time

or

part-time Occupational Therapist (OT)

to join our multidisciplinary team. The OT will provide assessment, consultation, and direct occupational therapy to children with autism and developmental disabilities. This role involves collaborating with families and other professionals and ensuring the highest quality of care for all clients on their caseload.

RATE:



35.00 - 50.00/hour. Commensurate with experience and education

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the sensory, motor, and adaptive needs of children on the autism spectrum or with other developmental disabilities. Collaborate closely with behavioural therapists, speech therapists, and other professionals to develop holistic treatment plans that align with each child's goals and needs. Design and implement individualized occupational therapy interventions that focus on enhancing fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration, self-care routines, and adaptive behaviours. Utilize evidence-based practices and innovative techniques to create engaging and effective therapeutic activities. Monitor and document progress, adapting interventions as needed based on ongoing assessment and feedback from the multidisciplinary team and caregivers. Provide guidance and support to parents and caregivers, offering strategies to promote skill development and generalize therapeutic gains beyond the center. Participate actively in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development opportunities to foster collaborative learning and best practices. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and any other required documentation. Contribute to a positive and inclusive environment that values diversity, empathy, and respect for all children and their families.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Current registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario Experience working with children on the autism spectrum or related developmental disabilities. Proficiency in conducting comprehensive assessments and developing individualized treatment plans. Strong understanding of sensory integration principles and their application in therapeutic interventions. Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the well-being and development of children. Ability to adapt to a dynamic and evolving therapeutic environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment is a plus. Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary team is desirable. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with children, parents/caregivers, colleagues, and other professionals. Ability to create a positive and supportive environment for children and their families. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Vulnerable sector check completed within the last year.

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 39.5 per week
