Our interdisciplinary team, comprising Family Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Dietitian, Respiratory Therapist, Counsellors, Community Health Worker, and Medical Office Assistants work collaboratively to provide comprehensive family practice services. What You Will Do:

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide evidence-based interventions to help patients participate fully in their daily lives. You will work with individuals experiencing physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges to promote independence, function, and quality of life. Collaborating closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and other allied health professionals, you will integrate occupational therapy into holistic patient care plans.

Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' functional abilities, daily living skills, and occupational performance. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support independence at home, work, and in the community. Provide education, adaptive strategies, and resources to empower patients and caregivers. Recommend, train, and support the use of assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to integrate occupational therapy into overall patient care. Support patients with chronic conditions, mental health concerns, developmental challenges, neurological disorders, and post-injury rehabilitation. Maintain accurate patient documentation and progress notes in the EMR system. Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives. Contribute to health promotion, group programming, and community outreach activities.
Qualifications & Experience:

Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC). Valid Driver's license. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical, rehabilitation, or primary care setting preferred. Strong knowledge of functional assessments, rehabilitation principles, and adaptive equipment. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and patient education skills. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Working Conditions:

The Occupational Therapist will work on-site at the STEPS CHC North Shore. Flexible scheduling options within the clinic's hours of operation. This position may require an extended evening or occasional weekend shifts. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. The work of STEPS may necessitate a non-standard workplace.
Skills:

Ability to manage time effectively to balance assessments, treatments, and documentation. Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ethical judgment. Ability to build positive connections with patients, caregivers, and community partners. Experience in primary care and community health is an asset.

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
