An exciting opportunity exists for an Occupational Therapist II. This position is suitable for an individual who has a passion for providing patient and family centered care in an integrated, transdisciplinary team setting. As an Occupational Therapist II you will serve in a children, youth and families (birth - 18 years) as part of an integrated child health team, providing pediatric rehabilitation services that aligns with the Alberta Health service priorities in communities of Cold Lake, Bonnyville and St. Paul.

Description:

As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible for coordination of occupational therapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral member, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be providing coordination of the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will be participating in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will be making decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. As assigned, you will carry out the roles of a direct clinical service provider, consultant, educator and/or advocate in your program or service area.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in pediatrics is required. Excellent and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated leadership skills: including analytical thinking, complex decision-making and conflict resolution. Demonstrated ability to work on an integrated and transdisciplinary team. Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills as well as ability to work with limited supervision (independently). Demonstrated ability to take initiative and creative ability required. Certification in Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider from the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Pediatric Eating Feeding and Swallowing, Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC), pediatric seating and virtual clinical care are preferred. Experience with coaching and mentorship preferred.
