Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team, supporting clients recovering from stroke and/or living with physical disabilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping clients regain independence and improve their quality of life through evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.

Duties



Assess the functional abilities and needs of clients recovering from stroke and/or living with physical disabilities, using standardized assessment tools. Develop individualized treatment plans targeting activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, cognitive function, and overall independence. Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at restoring physical, cognitive, and psychosocial function. Educate clients and families on stroke recovery, adaptive strategies, and home modifications to support continued progress. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists, and rehabilitation support workers, to deliver coordinated care. Provide education, training, and guidance to staff on OT related strategies, adaptive techniques, and best practices to support client needs across environments. Adjust treatment approaches as needed based on client response and changing priorities. Document assessments, treatment plans, progress, and outcomes in accordance with professional, organizational, and legal standards. Participate in professional development initiatives and contribute to program enhancement and best-practice development.

Qualifications



Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred, ideally in community-based or rehabilitation settings. Experience working with clients recovering from stroke and/or living with physical disabilities is an asset. Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical reasoning skills.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $50.00-$100.00 per hour
