Overview

We're looking for experienced occupational therapists to join our team in our Special Care Services department. In this role, you'll be a clinical resource and a member of an interdisciplinary case management team that is committed to providing high quality service to severely injured workers by assisting them to develop and maintain independence in self-care, vocational rehabilitation, and daily living activities.

At this time, this is a hybrid position where you'll work primarily at home and be on-site at our Richmond office occasionally.

What you'll do

As an occupational therapist - clinical advisor you will:

  • Apply theoretical knowledge to the assessment, interpretation, planning, and implementation of health care services for clients with physical or mental health conditions
  • Provide education sessions as needed, to both internal and external audiences including employers
  • Continuously collaborate with all external stakeholders to assist with stay-at-work programs, early intervention, and return to work planning
  • Provide clinical support during team meetings
  • Provide oversight on complex physical or mental health claims by implementing and monitoring return to work plans
  • Conduct onsite visits to injured workers, worksites, and external service providers of clinical programs to review services being provided for injured workers

  • Build and maintain trusting and cooperative working relationships with individuals and organizations in an environment that is often adversarial
  • Develop and present education sessions and programs
  • Work in a computerized environment using Microsoft software
  • Travel throughout the region and stay overnight
Your experience and educational background:
  • Full registration and current membership in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia
  • A minimum of three years of clinical OT experience in practical areas such as physical health, neurology, mental health, brain injury, amputation, or spinal cord injury
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • This team provides services to injured workers throughout the province; you must be able to travel
