The Allied Health Team under Professional Practice consists of Regulated Healthcare Professional including: Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Social Work, Registered Dietitians, Respiratory Therapy, as well as unregulated Rehabilitation Assistants. Each discipline is focused on driving evidence informed practice to promote high quality patient and family centered care.


The team has a Professional Practice Leader (PPL) model for each regulated allied health discipline which promotes and enhances the interprofessional team. Each discipline has their own PPL with dedicated time to enhance their communities of practice, represent their respective disciplines at committees, create policies & procedures and lead corporate level initiatives.


RVH is undergoing significant growth, including a capital plan that will see the current North Campus double in size over the next ten years, while developing the new South Campus in Innisfil.

We are currently seeking a

regular Part time (0.6FTE) Occupational Therapist.




The successful candidate will provide Occupational Therapy services as part of an interdisciplinary care team on our inpatient Transitional Rehab Program (TRP). The TRP program supports low intensity rehabilitation for patients with a variety of diagnoses and needs.


Qualified candidates will have the following requirements:


Education:




Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program or university with a clinical Master's in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)- Required. Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario -Required Member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - Preferred Evidence of continuing education in Acute Care Occupational Therapy required Valid Certificate of Completion of MoCA certification - Required.





Experience:




Recent Occupational Therapy experience with a varied clinical practice in acute care (medical and surgical) and/or rehabilitation setting preferred. A strong theoretical and practical knowledge of OT role and scope in promoting functional independence and occupational performance in acute care preferred. Knowledge of community services, supports, and equipment preferred.

Competencies:




Ability to function co-operatively as part of an interprofessional assessment team. Possess comprehensive assessment, treatment, and documentation skills Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, flexibility and initiative Ability to communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and other professionals. Superior organizational and time management skills are essential to management of the caseload. Knowledge of community services, supports, and acute care flow
